Bingo still a tradition at some California casinos

California's $4 billion Indian gaming industry started out with bingo, a fact not lost on several tribes who still offer the game to customers.

But bingo is slowing losing ground to slot machines and Class III offerings. According to The Riverside Press-Enterprise, some tribes have scaled back their bingo operations while others have dropped it altogether.

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians closed the bingo hall at the casino but may bring it back. The Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians offer games only during the day.
