A federal judge on Friday told the Bureau of Indian Affairs to conduct a more complete analysis on a Michigan tribe's casino project.
The BIA agreed to take 79 acres into trust for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomis. An environmental impact report found "no significant impact" on the community.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson disagreed and said the BIA has to conduct another assessment before the tribe can build the 200,000-square-foot casino.
