Bill for urban casino in Minnesota put on hold

A bill to authorize an urban casino for two Minnesota tribes has been put on hold so that it can be heard by another committee.

The Red Lake and White Earth bands of Ojibwe operate casinos on their remote reservations. They want to open one in the Twin Cities area and share revenues with the state.

The bill is being sent to another committee to address a taxation issue. Sponsor Rep. Bill Haas (R) says he still expects it to get a floor vote.
