NIGA holding annual trade conference in N.M.

The National Indian Gaming Association, the largest tribal gaming organization, is holding its annual trade show and convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this week.

The convention began yesterday some preliminary meetings. NIGA president Ernie Stevens and executive director Mark Van Norman will give a state of the industry address today. Retiring Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) is to be honored this morning, according to the agenda.

A host of tribal, state and federal officials are scheduled to present throughout the convention, which runs through Wednesday. NIGA elections will take Tuesday.
