Choctaw Nation taps out-of-state gamblers

Gamblers from Arkansas and Texas are providing some big reasons why the Choctaw Nation is undertaking a $65 million expansion of its casino facilities.

The tribe buses 5,000 Texans to its casino in Durant. That facility will be tripling in size and will include a 104,000-square foot casino, a 60-room addition to the 42-room hotel, a 5,000-seat coliseum, a horse barn and an arena.

Facilities that attracts out-of-state gamblers are also growing. A casino in Pocola near Arkansas is doubling in size and the tribe is making one in Grant near Texas permanent.
