Status of Wyandotte Nation casino up on the air

Will the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma be forced to close its Class II casino in Kansas? All eyes are on Kansas City today.

The tribe went to federal court to stop the National Indian Gaming Commission from imposing a shutdown. Bu the judge yesterday rejected a temporary restraining order.

An NIGC spokesperson told The Kansas City Star she couldn't speculate on what the agency would do next. The tribe was given until today to submit a response to an opinion, issued last week, that the casino is illegal.
