Neb. lawmakers may revive gaming amendment

In the final days of the Nebraska Legislature, the possibility of a two casino plan seems more likely, according to Speaker Curt Bromm.

Gaming has already consumed 26 hours of debate this session, according to The Lincoln Journal Star. But there weren't enough votes to advance a constitutional amendment to allow up to 8 casinos.

The head of the Gallup Poll organization wrote a letter to the legislators stating that he was opposed to gambling in Omaha because it would "instantly change the dignity, the sophistication and the positive image of business in our state."
