Mich. Supreme Court considers gaming compact case

The Michigan Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Thursday in a case challenging the state's gaming compacts.

A group called Taxpayers of Michigan Against Casinos (TOMAC) is challenging the agreements with tribes as illegal without approval from the State Legislature. Some Republican lawmakers support the group, which has also sued the Department of Interior of land-into-trust transactions.

Four tribes have casino plans or recently opened casinos. They are required to share revenues with the state and local governments.
