Calif. tribes with casinos put $93M into state fund

California tribes with casinos have contributed $93 million to a state fund since 2000. Of that amount, $25 million goes to counties and local governments.

Counties can use the money to offset the impacts of casinos. Sonoma County is setting up a committee, including a representative of the Dry Creek Pomo Tribe, to distribute $284,600 this year.

In addition to local governments, non-gaming tribes, and tribes with less than 350 slot machines, share in a $1.1 million annual fund.
