Debate held over proposed Timbisha-Shoshone casino

Business leaders in Hesperia, California, heard both sides of a debate over a proposed casino.

The Timbisha Shoshone Tribe says it will bring 1,000 jobs and business opportunities for local vendors. The tribe is offering the city nearly $7 million a year for 20 years for services.

Opponents question whether the tribe has a claim in Hesperia. Currently, the tribe has a small reservation in Death Valley, where gaming is prohibited.
