Coalition rallies against Cowlitz Tribe's casino

Residents of La Center, Washington, are hoping to convince county commissioners not to approve a deal with the Cowlitz Tribe that would lead to a casino.

Stand Up for North Clark County believes the casino would hurt non-Indian card clubs. The operators of the facilities say they will be driven out of business and won't be able to compete.

The tribe has proposed an agreement with Clark County over 152 acres. The tribe is landless after receiving federal recognition during the Clinton administration in 2000.
