The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has been given approval to buy a racetrack in Pennsylvania.
The tribe will pay $280 million for the Pocono Downs in eastern Pennsylvania. The sale was approved by the state Harness Racing Commission.
The racetrack is eligible to offer slot machines under a new state law. Pennsylvania will have 14 new casinos with up to 3,000 slot machines.
