"In the two-year tussle over Indian gambling deals with the state, it has become clear that Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle gave away too much exclusive, expanded casino gambling rights and longer agreements in exchange for too little money.
This complaint gains even more credence now that Wisconsin tribes are expanding their gambling into other states and paying a lot more for the privilege.
The tribes can't be faulted for seeking the best deals they can get. But it's clear that either through incompetence or intent, the Doyle administration in its early days struck sweetheart deals with tribes that are now offering much bigger cuts to other state governments."
