Oklahoma gaming conference attracts a crowd

More than 2,000 people will have attended the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association's tenth annual conference by the time it concludes today in Oklahoma City.

The conference drew 257 vendors eager to tap the state's growing gaming market. Marcus Prater, senior vice president of marketing for Bally Gaming, said gaming facilities will add 10,000 machines by the end of 2006, making it one of the top five gaming markets in the country.

Tribes will be adding new games under a state-tribal compact approved by voters this month. Tribes are planning to expand existing facilities and build new ones.

More information on the conference can be found at http://www.oiga2004.com.
