The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut has formed a development company aimed at diversifying its gaming business.
Foxwoods Development Company, created earlier this year, is headed by Gary Armentrout, a gaming industry veteran. Armentrout said the company has signed a preliminary agreement with an undisclosed Arizona tribe and is looking at tribal and non-tribal ventures throughout the country.
Armentrout said the Pequots are interested in Pennsylvania and have been talking to two or three tribes in California. Armentrout most recently worked for the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians in California.
