Commissioners in Dona Ana County, New Mexico, delayed a vote on a proposed off-reservation casino.
At its meeting on Tuesday, the commission pulled discussion of a proposed intergovernmental agreement between Jemez Pueblo and the county. Commission chairman Gilbert Apodaca said he wants more information about the deal.
Jemez Pueblo is located hundreds of miles away from the proposed casino site in southern New Mexico. At least two other tribes, including one from Oklahoma, have voiced interest in the region.
