A debate over a proposed off-reservation casino in the Chicago suburbs attracted 500 people on Thursday night, The Northwest Indiana Times reported.
The Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin has purchased land in the suburb of Lynwood. The tribe is seeking an act of Congress to have it placed into trust.
The tribe has said a casino is not a necessary part of the proposed entertainment complex that would include hotels, stores, a spa, water park, athletic fields and other amenities.
