South Dakota tribes are worried that a vote to expand gaming across the border in Nebraska could threaten their revenues.
The Yankton Sioux Tribe and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe could lose a lot of customers since an estimated 60 percent of gamblers come from Nebraska. Already, the tribes are thinking about expanding their operations and starting other businesses to keep revenues flowing.
Nebraska has two tribal casinos but only Class II games are allowed. If voters approve gambling questions on the ballot, the tribes would be allowed to run Class III games.
