Members of the Meskwaki Tribe of Iowa voted 238 to 61 in favor of a $150 million casino expansion.
The tribe hopes to serve the expanding gaming industry in the state. A spokesperson said customers want more options.
The tribe recently negotiated a new compact with the state. It is under review at the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
The tribe currently employs about 1,000 people at its current casino. The expansion would nearly double the size of the facility.
