Yet another tribe has joined the race for a Bay Area casino.
The Lower Lake Rancheria, also known as the Koi Nation, is announcing plans for a casino near the Oakland International Airport. The tribe, which has 30 members, was restored recognition in the final days of the Clinton administration.
Other tribes eyeing the Bay Area include the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians, the Coast Miwok Tribe/Graton Rancheria, the Guidville Band of Pomo Indians, the California Valley Miwok Tribe and the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians.
