The Cowlitz Tribe of Washington spent more than $50,000 to mail 80,000 brochures promoting a proposed casino resort.
The tribe is working with the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut to develop a large casino with up to 2,000 slot machines.
The tribe is seeking to build on an initial reservation of 152 acres. The tribe gained federal recognition through the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
