Calls to the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling have steadily increased since 2001, the Associated Press reports.
The council received 8,322 calls last year, up 10 percent from 2002. From 2002 to 2001, the calls jumped 45 percent.
There have already been 5,272 calls this year. Rose Gruber, the council's executive director, says Internet gambling accounts for some of the increase.
Tribes are seeking to expand their casinos but their new compacts are tied up in court.
