A New York Supreme Court justice blocked the Seneca Nation from building a casino in suburban Buffalo, saying the tribe has to build in the city.
Judge Joseph Makowski invalidated a provision of a compact signed by the tribe and Gov. George Pataki (R). He said the compact would not overrule the State Legislature's intent to locate the casino in Buffalo.
Buffalo leaders and developers filed the suit to block the tribe from building in Cheektowaga.
