The Lytton Band of Pomo Indians is not near a deal for an urban casino, the tribe's attorney said.
The tribe is negotiating with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) but reports of an imminent agreement are incorrect, the lawyer said. It could be months before one is reached.
The tribe took over an old card club in San Pablo under a Congressional rider that placed the land in trust. The tribe has authority to run Class II games but needs a compact for slot machines and other Class III games.
