A group called Citizens Opposing New Casinos on Existing Residential Neighborhoods (CONCERN) filed a lawsuit in hopes of stopping the Seneca Nation from opening a casino in a suburb of Buffalo.
The group claims the casino needs an extensive environmental review of potential impacts.
The group also says the public needs to vote on the casino because it will be built on land within the limits of the city of Cheektowaga.
The suit was filed with the state Supreme Court against state and local officials. The city of Buffalo filed its own lawsuit, saying the tribe should be forced to put the casino in downtown Buffalo.
