Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) said he is willing to hold a hearing on a proposal by the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes to open an out-of-state casino in Colorado.
The tribes are currently based in Oklahoma but claim 27 million acres of land in eastern Colorado. They say they are willing to settle for 500 acres and gaming rights.
Campbell, who is of Cheyenne descent, said he's been asked to hold a hearing. One could be scheduled in late summer.
