The Prairie Island Indian Community of Minnesota is sponsoring a a $200,000 television ad campaign to tout the benefits of Indian gaming.
The campaign features three 30-second spots meant to highlight how tribal casinos have
contributed to local communities. Two ads show some of the beneficiaries of gaming dollars: a fire department, the Goodhue County Historical Society, a high school hockey ice arena and tribal programs and infrastructure. A third warns of addictive gambling and offers a phone number for help.
Gaming is heating up in Minnesota due to calls to renegotiate existing agreements that would require the tribes to share more revenues with the state.
