"Here in southeastern Connecticut, we have what might be called the �company nation,� a community dominated by one giant business, gambling, that affects everything in sight but has a far less paternalistic attitude toward its employees.

This is a good thing, and a bad thing.

Employees at Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos can take care of many of their personal needs, from dry cleaning to banking to weight lifting to filling prescriptions and filling up at the gas tank, right on company property. But only the owners/tribes and invited guests can live there."
