UPDATE: The POL EOC has identified an additional potential COVID-19 case within the Laguna Elementary School. As a precautionary measure, LDOE is enacting the school’s COVID-19 response protocol and will close the Laguna Elementary School until further notice.
The POL EOC contact tracers are in the process of identifying potential contacts in both the LMS and LES cases. Until investigations are completed, both the LMS and LES campuses are closed until further notice.
If you DO NOT receive a call from our contact tracers, you are NOT considered to be at risk and have no reason to self-quarantine. You may continue your normal activities to include COVID-19 Safe Practices: wear a face mask when you leave your home, social distance, hand hygiene, and minimize interaction with outside households.
The POL EOC and LDOE are working together to prioritize the health & wellness of the students, staffulty, and families. We understand this news will create anxiety. Our commitment to consistent COVID-safe practices will continue to be our best defense against this virus.
Updates will be provided as they become available. You may contact the EOC at (505) 328-5682.
