UPDATE: Eleven (11) active COVID-19 positive cases within the Pueblo of Laguna. The EOC reminds the community that all COVID-19 Safe Practices must continue to be followed even if you have been vaccinated.
In addition, there is still data from the New Mexico Department of Health that shows strong scientific evidence of the possibility of the B.1.1.7 coronavirus variant, also known as the UK variant, within the Pueblo boundaries. In order for the community to stay ahead of this variant and any other variant is to get vaccinated, continue COVID-19 testing, and COVID-19 Safe Practices.
As a reminder, there is still no vaccine available to protect our children so that responsibility falls upon adults and those around them.
The EOC and community’s overall goal remains “community immunity” so we can begin getting back to some sort of normalcy. Until then, please continue utilizing the tools we have to help stop the spread of the virus in our community:
• Get a COVID-19 vaccination
• Continue COVID-19 testing
• Avoid large crowds and gatherings
• Wear a face mask
• Stay 6 feet away from people
• Wash your hands often & avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
The Pueblo’s COVID-19 case update within Pueblo boundaries stands at 632 total positive cases, 11 active cases, 0 hospitalizations, 603 recovered, and 18 deceased. Cases within each village: Laguna-2, Encinal-0, Mesita-5, Paguate-0, Paraje-0, and Seama-4. Stay safe!
