Meet the Speakers

Hattie Mitchell, CPA, Tribal Controller of the Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians and NAFOA Board Treasurer

Hattie Mitchell is a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (PBPN) and grew up on the PBPN reservation in Mayetta, Kansas. She served as the elected Tribal Treasurer for four years, 2012-2016. Currently, Hattie is the Tribal Controller of the Augustine Band of Cahuilla Indians located in Coachella, California. She also serves as Treasurer for NAFOA and as Treasurer for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Entertainment Corporation. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance from Washburn University

Tasha Repp, CPA, Partner and National Practice Leader

Tasha is a CPA and has been working with Moss Adams serving Tribal governments since 1997. Tasha is Moss Adams National Practice Leader overseeing all of the firm’s services to Tribes and was previously a member of the firm’s Assurance Services Committee and leader of the Public Sector, Not-for-profit and Tribes technical committee. Tasha is also a designated Single Audit technical reviewer for the firm. Tasha served as a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Committee (GASAC) to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), as a representative for NAFOA from 2013-2018. Tasha currently serves as a member of GASB’s Tribal Working Group established to evaluate and recommend alternative reporting models for Tribal businesses for consideration by the GASB.

Tasha is also an enrolled member of the Samish Indian Nation.
