5 Things You Need to Know this Week

As someone on Twitter once asked us, “What does NAFOA stand for?”

1.  POLICY:
SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK ON THE SBA PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM TRIBAL INCLUSION SURVEY

NAFOA is still seeking responses to our Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Survey. The purpose of this survey is to understand the extent of tribal participation in the program.

We respectfully ask each entity that applied, considered, or otherwise did not apply for an SBA PPP Loan fill out the survey. There are questions for all entities.

Any information collected through this survey will be kept confidential.

2.  FOR TRIBES:
BECOME A NAFOA MEMBER TRIBE

NAFOA serves tribal governments through advocacy; leadership development; initiatives to educate our youth; and by bringing together tribal leadership, tribal professionals, and industry partners needed for economic success. Implementing a tribal membership program has been instrumental in making that happen as we cannot do it alone. To support our work and Indian Country, we encourage you to become a Member Tribe today.

If you are already a Member Tribe, thank you for your support. Your renewal allows us to achieve our common purpose – to grow tribal economies.

Note: Tribes may be able to charge NAFOA’s membership fee to your federal grants. Under the cost principles of the OMB Uniform Guidance, there are allowable items for membership in professional organizations that focus on capacity building and professional development (§200.454  and §200.472). Additionally, membership and membership renewal is an approved expenditure for the Coronavirus Relief Fund.

3. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
