New Mexico Delivers Food and Water to the Navajo Nation
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department, in coordination with the New Mexico National Guard, New Mexico Emergency Operations Center, Navajo Nation Emergency Operations Center, the City of Gallup, local farmers, and MoGro (a Project of the Santa Fe Community Foundation), procured 900 boxes of food and water to be delivered to two Navajo Nation Chapters. These deliveries are taking place today, before the 57-Hour Navajo Nation Weekend Curfew which will go into effect this evening at 8:00 pm and last through Monday, May 11, 2020, at 5:00 am.
“We continue to work alongside our partner agencies and work to create new partnerships to efficiently expedite the delivery of essential resources to our tribal communities,” said IAD Cabinet Secretary Lynn Trujillo.
The food and water delivery has been coordinated to be delivered to the following Chapters:
- Church Rock Chapter
- Rock Springs Chapter
