New Mexico Pueblo Relief Fund Delivers Essential Resources to our Nations, Tribes, and Pueblos
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department has partnered with the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Pueblo Relief Fund, and The Setter Group to procure and deliver essential supplies to our Nations, Tribes, and Pueblos.
Items that were delivered included bleach, paper towels, toilet paper, liners, trash bags, gloves, and facial tissue.
The procurement and delivery of these supplies were made possible through two major donations, totaling in the amount of $40,000:
- PhRMA, the Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers of America, who is the country’s leading biopharmaceutical research and biotechnology companies, donated $20,000.
- RALI, a non-profit dedicated to opioid addiction, supported by PhRMA donated $20,000.
“Thank you to all who worked to procure and deliver these shipments of supplies for our tribal communities. These items are a necessity — adequate access to sanitation is essential, but for many of our tribal communities, these disparities already exist. We need to continue to work together to address these gaps and find long-term solutions,” said New Mexico Indian Affairs Department Cabinet Secretary, Lynn Trujillo.
“Our Pueblo communities appreciate the support and generosity of those who have contributed to our Pueblo Relief Fund. We thank everyone who has helped make it possible for our Pueblo communities to access the essential sanitary supplies, personal protective equipment, water, and necessary food items needed under the circumstances of the COVID-19 health pandemic possible. We still have a long way to go to secure the life, safety, health, and wellbeing of our communities but with the continued support of one another, we will get through this together,” said Governor J. Michael Chavarria, All Pueblo Council of Governors Chairman.
