Construction of the National Native American Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., continues, according to Kevin Gover, the director of the National Museum of the American Indian.
Gover, a citizen of the Pawnee Nation, shared photos of ongoing work at the site on March 30, 2020.
“As you can see, the workers are properly social distancing,” Gover wrote in a post on social media.
The National Native American Veterans Memorial is due to open by Veterans Day in November 2020. It’s located on the grounds of the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall.
Harvey Pratt, a citizen of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, won the design competition for the National Native American Veterans Memorial. His design is called “Warriors’ Circle of Honor.”
