WASHINGTON—TODAY, Wednesday, March 25 at approximately 2:30 p.m. MT / 4:30 p.m. ET, U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.), senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and vice chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, will speak on the Senate floor to call for the Senate to pass urgent, bipartisan relief for New Mexico communities included in a bipartisan emergency response package. Udall will highlight key improvements made in recent days to benefit working families, small business, hospitals and Tribal communities in the emerging third congressional
The speech comes as New Mexico has suffered its first COVID-19 related death and Senate Republican and Democratic leaders announced an agreement on a bipartisan $2 trillion economic and public health relief package in response to the coronavirus pandemic that is impacting the lives of all Americans and New Mexicans. The Senate is working to vote on the legislation soon.
