FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 19, 2020
Concho, Okla. – Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Governor Reggie Wassana proclaims a State of Emergency to exist in the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes as a result of the threat of COVID-19.
All tribal programs and casino operations will be suspended and all employees will be paid their regular salary for two weeks.
“As traditional people, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes always take care and look out for our tribal citizens and neighbors,” Governor Reggie Wassana said. “With the number of reported cases, it is the best interest for our tribal citizens and community to isolate ourselves to protect all individuals during this health pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who travel and I encourage everyone to please pray and take all cautious steps to take care of each other.”
The Tribes will ensure that tribal members continue to receive services and supports mandated through our essential service employees and offices. To read the full text about the state of emergency, visit cheyenneandarapaho-nsn.gov.
