AUGUST 4, 2000

Traditionally a Democrat-voting tribe, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut held a dinner last night for Governor John J. Rowland and members of the state delegation to the Republican National Convention.

The convention was the first the tribe ever sent a delegate. John J. Guevremont was the tribe's representative and one of the few tribal members registered as Republican.

Kelly A. Reising will represent the tribe at the Democratic National Convention later this month.
