World Trade Center in N.Y. collapses

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 Two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City around 9 am Eastern Standard Time. Both towers of the building have completely collapsed as a result. One of the planes which crashed into a tower was American Airlines Flight No. 11. It was hijacked from Boston to Los Angeles. Another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, DC, this morning as well, causing part of the building to collapse. The White House has been evacuated as have all federal buildings.
