A California man is developing online bingo betting software he hopes to license to tribal casinos.

The software could allow people to hook up to tribal casinos from their homes, says Wayne Townsend.

Internet gaming is an uncharted area for tribes operating under gaming compacts. Las Vegas casinos who supported a bill to ban online gaming have changed their mind and are making greater forays into the market.

Financial analyst firm Bear Stearns and Co. Inc. says the online market will grow to a $5 billion industry by 2003.
