N.M. executes first in 41 years

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2001 The state of New Mexico conducted its first execution in 41 years, putting Terry Clark to death on Tuesday night. Clark was convicted of the kidnap, rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl. He died by lethal injection. Clark's lawyers had sought an appeal even though he wanted to die. The State Supreme Court declined to stop the execution. Get the Story:
