OCTOBER 4, 2000 Members of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas elected a new tribal council on Monday, with four incumbents keeping their seats. Nancy Bear was elected tribal chairwoman. Ousted council members Steve Cadue and Thelma Simon also received votes but not enough to regain a position on the council. Get the Story:
