Republican Vice Presidential candidate Dick Cheney has been hospitalized this morning for chest pains, says the George W. Bush campaign.

He is being held at the George Washington Hospital in Washington, DC, where he underwent treatment, according to doctors. He has had three heart attacks, the last in 1988, and although the Bush campaign at first said he did not have one today, his doctors said he had a mild one.

He also underwent a quadruple bypass in 1988. Cheney is 59.
