A team of scientists is undertaking a five-year, $2.5 million study to understand how climate change is affecting people in the Arctic.

Led by a team from the University of Colorado at Boulder and funded by the National Science Foundation, the effort will tap into Native knowledge. Anthropologist Anne Jensen of the Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., an Alaska Native regional corporation in Barrow, says elders have been noticing the changes.
