The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences on Monday announced it has decided to move this year's Latin GRAMMY show to Los Angeles due to safety concerns.

The Academy made the decision after the city of Miami said it would allow Cuban-American protesters to rally outside the scheduled show. The Academy wanted the protesters placed further away from guests of the show.

Miami had been announced as the location of the 2nd Annual Latin GRAMMYs several months ago. The awards ceremony will air on CBS on September 11.
