The Rhode Island Legislature must adequately fund a study of casino gaming and complete it in sufficient time or else The New London Day will be forced to admit the Narragansett Tribe is right in criticizing the proposal.

House Finance Committee Chairman Gordon Fox is pushing for the study. The tribe says it will only delay justice and the right of voters to decide whether a tribal casino is right for the state.

The paper says the Legislature should make sure the study is done properly or else "the Narragansetts will be able to say, with justification, 'See? We told you so.'"
