In an editorial today, The Norwich Bulletin praises Gov. John Rowland (R) for seeking to increase the casino aid five communities near tribal casinos receive.

Rowland wants to double the amount the municipalities of Norwich, Montville, Preston, Ledyard and North Stonington receive. Currently, the communities get $250,000 each.

The paper says the state Legislature should implement the request.
