"Even today, treaties are probably one of the most misunderstood concepts in the U.S. Constitution. Never have so many known so little about something so important in our nation’s history.

This is why I’m flying off to Washington D.C. tomorrow to address the U.S. Census Bureau about Treaty rights and their importance in our world today. I’m going to call my presentation, “Treaty Rights for Dummies.”

But more about that next week.

For now, it’s enough that you all finally know the true story of how the first Thanksgiving dinner actually came about as the result of a treaty. And now you know how the great American turkey became the first treaty-bird. . ."
