Quinn Player of Indians dies

JUNE 4, 2001 The entertainment world lost a transcendent character on Sunday. Anthony Quinn died of respiratory failure at a Boston, Massachusetts hospital. He was 86. Born in Mexico, Quinn is famous for a number of ethnic-cast roles in which he played American Indians -- including Crazy Horse in 1941's "They Died With Their Boots On" -- Arabs, a Filipino soldier, a Chinese warrior, and Italians. His most notable was Zorba the Greek, in the 1964 film of the same name and he won an Oscar for 1952's "Viva Zapata!" Some Quinn titles:
