MONDAY, MAY 6, 2002 The Democratic and Republican parties are actively targeting Indian Country voters, according to their respective chiefs. Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe said the party is targeting Native voters in South Dakota, Montana, Arizona, California, New Mexico and Nevada. The party is engaging at the field level to register voters, get them online and get them to the polls. GOP chairman Marc Racicot, former governor of Montana, said his party doesn't have a specific strategy but is going after Native votes. Get the Story:
